Inside the Louvre and Out

While admiring the works of art inside the Gendarmes where sealing off the road in front of the Louvre to keep people from mixing with an extreme right wing political group gathering. They surrounded the Joan of Arc statue as they hold her as their symbol or emblem of their slogan "France for the French".

Happy Mother's Day!

Sunday in Paris

Not complete without a demonstration by an extreme right group surrounding Joan of Arcs statue by the Louvre. Here are the Gendarmes in their riot gear blocking the road so no one wanders down to mix it up with the skin heads.

Musee d'Orsay

One of my favorite buildings in Paris. The big white church on the hill is Sacre Coeur or Sacred Heart on Montmartre as seen through the big glass clock inside the Orsay museum

I am headed to Paris tomorrow... here we have a view of one of the 37 bridges over the river Seine in Paris, the Pont Neuf  or "new bridge" which is actually the oldest bridge in Paris.  It was completed in 1607 and was the first bridge without buildings/houses on it- you could actually see the river as you crossed over it, revolutionary.
